#WILTS (why I like this song)
During a conversation with a friend about artists that we were vibing with at the time, I was introduced to andhim. I had seen their name here and there in passing on a Spotify playlist or as a collaborating artist (check out “How Many Times” by Elderbrook & andhim), and after actually listening to some of their catalog found that they cover a wide range on the house music spectrum.
Fast-forward to this past month, I heard “Life” on the radio and was instantly curious - then surprised - when I looked up who the track was by and saw that they were one of the artists. This song is decidedly more on the melodic end of the spectrum. “Life” is built off of a bright foundation with a lot of shimmer (think windchimes) that sits in the background, which pairs well with the deep bass and ambient vocal chops. What I like most about this track is how much of a soundscape those 3 elements create. It’s something that you can venture outside during the summer and get lost to.
I’m not overly familiar with Carlita, but after enjoying this track so much, she will definitely be at the top of my list of artists to explore next.
